Mediators

Elementary and middle school mediators were honored with a day of partying in the park. They got to skip school and Miss New Mexico sang for them. Even though it was one of the coldest days of April they could have cared less.

PINK

Ah a girl after my own heart! Cooking at age 4 and loving pink! I told her I would turn the kitchen pink and she loved it! She kept eyeing up my equipment and wanted to see the photos. She was super cute!

Children at the Capitol

A few days in a row it seemed like there were cute kid features everywhere in the capitol building. First there were the flamenco dancers, rehearsing and primping. Then there was the school group of kindergarteners and first-graders grabbing at a statue in the governor's office. And finally, the group of cute signing kids that were performing in the rotunda.

3 Takes

On One Feature...

Kiddies in the park are never-ending features. I need to start finding other stuff around town.

Features

The youngest brother couldn't climb the tree himself and his older brothers were taunting him with, "You know the rules; you have to climb up yourself."

Typical summer feature before school starts.

Cop Camp

Summer camps are almost done out here as kids start going back to school in 2 weeks. But this past week was cop camp, preceded by fire camp the week before. So for one week local cops got to show the kiddies what it was like to be an officer. They had them doing drills and running in between the fun activities like checking out a police helicopter and seeing how a taser gun works. Yes, one counselor was going to get tasered. In the first photo the kiddies had acted up the day before and while they were waiting for a video the officers thought some drills might straighten out their attitudes. They are doing "dead cockroaches" and literally had to say "I am a dead cockroach," for 2.5 minutes while on their backs with their feet and hands in the air. It was pretty funny.

Fuzzy Feature

This feature is from a few weeks ago but so funny I had to post it despite the shelf life.
The bunnies weren't too sure of what to do on a leash.
Their owners on the other hand wanted them walking/hopping around.
