Twins at 17

This was a quick hit for a story on teen pregnancy. The story was slated to run Sunday I went to school on Thursday. Photo department got the assignment Wednesday... more time would have been nice, but c'est la vie of newspapers.

I may try to continue a similar story on my own.

First day

This time I was NOT mistaken for a high schooler. But all the same I blended in pretty easily I'll admit it. From what I saw high school hasn't changed much. There were a few students already pushing the dress code to see how much they could get away with. There were the late lost students and then the students who weren't lost but still late to class anyway. Some things don't change. Also it's a challenge to shoot the first day of school and "be sure not to show anyone's face prominently because they don't have their photo releases yet."

Prom 2007: The Rising Cost of Tradition

In March and April I attended two local high school proms for a story of the tradition of prom and how it's becoming more and more expensive to attend each year.
The students I talked to had to pay $40-50 for just their prom tickets.
One girl had paid $600 for a dress.
Either way it was definitely prom.
Students were kicked out for being drunk and there were plenty of teenage hormones going around to account for all the bumping and grinding on the dance floor.
