Tango.

This was for a story about how Argentine tango is growing in Albuquerque. Dance is still my favorite thing to photograph. Some things never change. :)

Tap Jam 2008

Photographed the class and performed in the show the next day. Video of me dancing is somewhere on youtube. If you want to see it you'll have to search.

Children at the Capitol

A few days in a row it seemed like there were cute kid features everywhere in the capitol building. First there were the flamenco dancers, rehearsing and primping. Then there was the school group of kindergarteners and first-graders grabbing at a statue in the governor's office. And finally, the group of cute signing kids that were performing in the rotunda.

Nia Dance

I don't think the editors here have yet noticed if you send me to a dance related assignment I will stay as long as possible. There's a form of excercise/dance here called Nia Dance. It seems to be a mix of martial arts, modern dance and aerobics all mixed together. It was something different that I had never seen before and I enjoyed it immensely.

Hip Hop High

Rio Rancho High School has a hip hop club and I was hoping to do something a bit long term on them but the run date could not be changed so I might be doing it for myself if I have time. Good group of kids having a blast dancing.

In the Mood

If you know me, you know my other passion besides photo is dance. I could dance every day and never be tired of it. Since I've moved to Albuquerque I've picked up swing dancing again and have been going about 3 or 4 nights a week. Thursday night I brought along my camera since my back had been hurting from dancing a few nights before.
And here's what I captured...

Unseen fund-raiser

This performance was part of a fund-raiser for the Chrysalis Community. The organization called the next day and told us they changed their minds and didn't want any photos to run with the article.
The Chrysalis program is for prostitutes to change their lives and get off the streets.

Ballet
