Another sportrait flew my way this week. This photo was to accompany a story on the lack of high school senior basketball stars this year but a promising junior class which will lead to an even better season next year. Luckily my chosen subjects were a bit of hams and up for jumping and dunking for me as much as possible before we got tossed out of the gym for a game to begin.

Remember when we spent that afternoon working on our ups to get the lights right for those sportraits in the Sun last year? That was fun (and I'm glad we didn't break anything). This shot is like an evolution of those and I like it.
thanks tom. and yeah i thought about that day when i was planning for this shoot. i'm gonna keep doing the jumping thing whenever possible. ;)
this is pretty rad. its got nice energy to it. just being nitpicky -- i kinda wish the fall off light wouldn't reveal all those little things about high school gyms that make them so ugly like those rafters and shit, but the lovely layered hammy guys make it hard to focus on that. you're getting pretty good at this, mama.
believe it or not andrea my editors wanted that nasty high school gym stuff as part of it. they wanted to be able to see the gym... blah. but it did run a bit darker than this so the shadows helped hide that stuff in the end.
luv ya. ;)
